Lightmorphic

Built in days. Not months. And nothing like the price.

Custom software and websites, accelerated by AI. A tool like the one here is normally quoted at tens of thousands, over two to four months. Ours start at £499 and can be live in three working days, at a fixed price agreed before any code is written. AI does the repetitive work at machine speed. A person decides what gets built and answers the phone when you ring.

Every business has a spreadsheet like the one above. Press a button to see what replaces it. The real one is yours, with your own words on it, and it takes days rather than months.

Faster

Days rather than months. The first working version is usually in your hands the same week you describe the problem.

Better made

The unglamorous work — tests, error handling, accessibility — is the first thing cut when a deadline moves. It costs us minutes, so it never gets cut.

A fraction of the price

You were paying for weeks of someone's time. Remove the weeks and the price goes with them. Same work, written down, fixed before we start.

Why it costs so much less — and why that is not a warning sign

Cheap software is usually cheap because something was left out. Here is exactly what changed, so you can judge it yourself.

01

The typing is not the job

Most of a build is repetitive: the same shapes, the same plumbing, the same forms. That part is now minutes of machine time instead of weeks of someone billing you by the hour.

02

The judgement is still ours

Deciding what to build, what to refuse, and what happens when it goes wrong is the part that needs a person. Every line is read by the one who will answer for it.

03

The safety work stops being optional

Tests, error handling, accessibility and backups are what a squeezed budget quietly drops. Ours cost hardly anything to do properly, so they are simply always done.

04

Nobody in the middle

No account managers, no sales team, no offices to keep lit. You talk to the person building the thing, and you are not paying for anybody to sit between you.

What you are used to, and what happens here

These are the complaints that come up again and again about software and web projects. We have built the way we work around them.

THE USUAL WAY

  • × Weeks to get a quote, and a paid discovery phase before anybody knows the price.
  • × Scope creep: small tweaks quietly become a rebuild, and the bill follows.
  • × Overruns on budget or timeline in a large share of projects.
  • × Support means a ticket queue and a wait, if there is support at all after launch.
  • × The agency keeps the code. You are renting your own business.
  • × Going quiet mid-project — common enough that "my developer disappeared" is a category of search.

HOW WE DO IT

  • Tell us the problem in your own words. No spec needed, no charge, and usually a price the same week.
  • One fixed price and a completion date, in writing, before any code is written.
  • If we misjudge how long it takes, that is our problem. The price is the price.
  • You message the person who built it. A live system that has stopped jumps the queue.
  • The code and the data are handed over in full, with an export for everything.
  • Stop after the scoping if you want to, and keep the document. It is yours either way.

The figures above are published 2026 industry benchmarks, not our own: typical small-business custom builds are quoted at tens of thousands over two to four months, and up to 45% of outsourced projects overrun on scope, budget or timeline. We link them so you can check rather than take our word for it.

Our own apps

You will not find a wall of client logos here, and that is deliberate: what we build for a customer is theirs, and their name, their systems and their numbers are not ours to advertise. Some of the businesses we work with would rather nobody knew they had bought anything at all, and that is a perfectly good reason on its own.

So judge us on these instead. Each one was built to solve something that was irritating us, with the same people and the same tools we use for your work — and then given away, because a thing that makes our day easier tends to make somebody else's easier too. Most are free and open source, and you can go and use one right now without speaking to anybody, which tells you more than a testimonial does.

Lightmorphic is a small company that works with businesses anywhere. Everything is done remotely and always has been, so where you are makes no difference to the price, the timescale or how quickly somebody answers you.

One team, two things. We write the software that replaces the spreadsheets, built around how your work already moves, and we design the websites that customers, search engines and AI assistants can all find and trust. They were briefly sold as two brands; they were never two businesses, so they are one again.

The same rules apply to both: a price agreed in writing, no cookies and nothing sold on, the code handed over at the end, and a person who knows your system when you need one — not a ticket queue.
